music

Native to San Francisco, and born into a musical family, I grew up studying classical and jazz music, eavesdropped on my sister’s Kraftwerk and Yellow Magic Orchestra vinyl rotations, blew my mind listening to a new band called Depeche Mode on a schoolbus during a field trip, and (re)discovered Philip Glass in Music History class & prog rock at the Laserium. I established my own groove in 80s synthpop & 90s shoegaze, and rounded out my playlists with modular and ambient music.

I played in a band called “Tigers Can Bite You” for a few fun years. I’ve also contributed lyrics and tunes to a few animation shows, including Symbiotic Titan and My Little Pony. In 2021, I finally released my very first solo album, entitled “1 California,” inspired by many hours listening to music while riding Muni. This personal album” comprises and embraces four decades of musical obsession, affection, and anguish.
